Taking page load from 8.9s to 2.6s
A performance plan for custom web apps that were losing users, plus checkout, automation and prototyping work across scaling products.
2.6spage load, down from 8.9s
11,500active users kept on a stable product
350+hours of manual work saved a year
Context
Several custom web applications had grown slow enough that users were dropping off. Behind the scenes, teams were losing hours every week to manual reporting and lead handling.
What I did
- Performance plan. Ran a Core Web Vitals remediation across the worst-affected apps. Page load went from 8.9s to 2.6s and the user base stabilised.
- Checkout without friction. Managed end-to-end Stripe, Razorpay and WooCommerce integrations through custom APIs, so paying was the easy part of the journey.
- Automation. Analysed behaviour data across products and built automated lead capture and reporting pipelines. That saved 350+ hours a year and cut overhead by 36%.
- Prototypes before code. Designed 18+ Figma prototypes and user journeys, which shortened design feedback loops by 15%.
- Workshops that prevent scope creep. Ran 30+ client discovery workshops to pin down requirements and edge-case acceptance criteria across 10+ initiatives.
What I learnt
The smallest automation can have the biggest effect. A script that turns a three-hour weekly report into three minutes doesn’t need a dashboard. It just needs someone to get fed up enough to build it.
